The Ending

Image
Looking at what I just did compared to what my first project I am so proud of myself for learning how to do this and how much fun this really was. This journey was fun but it is not over.

FInal lego man

Image
This was a test render of him to see the colors on him and see if I needed to change anything Simple render of him put together Different stance

Progress 2

Image
This week I worked on the harder parts of my model and it took a lot longer to make these. The fact that some of these shapes are on angles really messed me up specifically when I hade to Booleandiffernce things away from them He is comming together  just need to add materials and render him

Progress 1

Image
This week I spent the time scaling and mapping the largest pieces and plane to revolve and extrude them so I can then make the holes they have. As I was mapping the pieces I started to see the model come together and was eager to see the finished product

Surface Design Laser Cut Sample

Image
For my laser cut I decided to use wood even though I wanted color for my piece because I would not be able to achieve different layers to the degree I would want. I would like to do this laser cut again now that I know what certain intensities look like on this wood. I was kind of guessing the values for the layers and it worked out mostly but the flower in the middle would pop more if I used a larger range of intensities for the added contrast. I will probably use this as a coaster for now but I would like to keep exploring laser cutting using different materials and designs

Reverse Engineering Object Ideas

Image
The three objects I decided to choose for this project are a pencil sharpener, Lego figure, and a exacta knife as seen below.

Cup Practice

Image
I was aiming to recreate a tankard through exploring what I can do to already existing materials. Using commands I now and learning some new ones I was able to create this. I started this project making a simple tea cup and using the pipe command to create the hand but as got close to finishing I was not happy with the results so I swapped up my design for a tankard. Offset was the main tool I used on this being able to create the simple outline and creating the metal that hold the cup together. For the handle I used sweep 1 and created a curve in the shape I wanted and then created a rectangle at one end of the curve and rotated it as I liked.  This project helped me learn more tools that I can use on future projects such as sweep and pipe. Materials really help bring the model to life.
